About Vertere

Founding and Early Vision

Vertere Acoustics is a British high-end audio manufacturer founded in 2006 by Touraj Moghaddam, a respected figure in the audio industry and former co-founder of Roksan. With decades of experience in audio engineering, Moghaddam launched Vertere to tackle what he identified as the weakest links in hi-fi systems — particularly cables, tonearms, and turntables. His mission was to push the boundaries of analog audio performance with precision, innovation, and clarity.

Initial Innovations: Cables

Vertere’s first major product was the Pulse Hand-built cable, which demonstrated a significant step forward in preserving audio signal integrity. These cables quickly gained recognition for their ability to reveal the full performance potential of high-fidelity systems, setting a new standard in audio connectivity. This foundational success shaped the company’s design ethos — focusing on signal purity and minimal interference.

Turntable Development

With the success of its cable range, Vertere turned its attention to turntable design. The debut of the Reference RG-1 turntable showcased the brand’s technical mastery — featuring precision engineering, innovative suspension systems, and minimalist aesthetics. The MG-1 Magic Groove and DG-1 Dynamic Groove followed, offering varying levels of performance and accessibility while preserving Vertere’s sonic signature.

Global Acclaim and Awards

Vertere’s commitment to excellence quickly earned its international recognition. The MG-1 Magic Groove turntable received Japan’s Stereo Sound Grand Prix award, highlighting its engineering sophistication and musical transparency. Today, Vertere products are available globally and are used in a wide range of settings — from high-end home systems to professional mastering studios.

Philosophy and Vision

At the heart of Vertere’s philosophy is a deep respect for music and its creators. The brand strives to bring listeners closer to the original studio master, reproducing sound exactly as intended by musicians, producers, and engineers. This pursuit of sonic objectivity guides Vertere’s ongoing innovation, ensuring every product delivers lifelike musical engagement with uncompromising precision.

Today

Vertere stands as a beacon of British audio innovation. With a product lineup spanning reference turntables, cartridges, precision tonearms, phono preamps and high-performance cables, the company continues to serve audiophiles around the world who seek the purest and most engaging musical experiences.
