Upgrade Eligibility Check
To ensure your PHONO-1 preamplifier is compatible with the new X-Mod LX specification, please check the power LED color on the front panel and (if applicable) the color of the rear/base panel around the input sockets. Find your configuration below to understand your eligibility, warranty updates, and next steps:
1. White Power LED
Silver Rear Panel (Original MKII):
Status: Not Eligible
These are original non-L units (typically serial numbers up to 1499) which cannot accommodate the X-Mod architecture.
Black Rear Panel (Early MKII L):
Status: Eligible for Upgrade
These are early L units (typically serial numbers 1500 to 1759).
Warranty Impact:Â Receives a 2-Year Warranty Extension upon completion.
2. Orange Power LED
Status: Eligible for Upgrade
These units (serial numbers 1760 and upwards) are fully compatible with the LX specification upgrade.
Warranty Impact:Â Triggers a full 10-Year Warranty Restart upon completion.
3. VBG Blue-Green Power LED
Status: Already at Peak Performance
Units featuring a Blue-Green LED (serial numbers starting with 1, 2, or 4000+) are either factory-built PHONO-1 LX models or have already received the X-Mod upgrade. No further upgrade is required!
